CalAA is proud to present a remarkable program of popular Marathi and Hindi songs on violin titled "Shabdaawaachun KaLale Saare" by renowned Violin Maestro Pt. Ramakant Paranjape. Pt. Ramakant Paranjape has performed and recorded with some of the greatest singers such as Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosale, Noor Jahan, Manna Dey, Talat Mehmood, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Bal Murli Krishnan, Anuradha Paudwal, Suman Kalyanpur, Arun Date and Suresh Wadkar, to name a few.

 

Pu. La. Deshpade once said, "Ramakant's violin actually sings the songs that he plays and listening to this is an experience in itself". Pt. Ramakant Paranjape is today undoubtedly one of the most respected semi-classical Musicians in Maharashtra. The famous singer Arun Date has said, "Almost all instrumentalists are longing to perform with the stalwarts in vocal music, but Pt. Ramakant Paranjape is one instrumentalist with whom the greatest singers wish to perform."

 

Pt. Ramakant Paranjape is a musician who has proved himself as a maestro time and again, be it in Indian semi-classical music, film songs, ghazals, bhajans, fusion music or Indian classical music. Once Pt. Ramakant Paranjape touches the violin, the music simply starts gushing forth and the result is magic, pure magic. A Theater Workshop mainly about the Art of Acting that aims at making you aware of your creative potential and help you develops your theatrical skills.

Madhav Vaze is a visiting faculty to teach History of the World Theatre, Theory of Acting and Theatre Criticism at several institutes in India, namely,

FRAMEWORK OF MADHAV VAZE’S THEATRE WORKSHOP

Aims / Objectives
This theatre workshop aims at making one aware of one’s creative potentials.
It also helps you to develop your theatrical skills
The workshop is mainly about the art of Acting

Preparation – Actor and the art of acting
Preparation mainly revolves around some basic elements of acting such as Concentration, Observation, Imagination and Relaxation
are considered to be the basics of any art.

A. Actor’s body and mind :
Body – From top to toe, Body language
Mind – Free, to overcome inhibitions, shyness

B. Actor and Space :
Body-Space relation

C. Actor and Movements
Movement and the sound

D. Voice and speech
Credibility of the voice
Pitch, volume, resonance, clarity of diction,
Stress and rhythm

E. Expressing the emotions
Recalling the past
Tapping various sources
Emoting after recollection

F. Actor and other actors
Inter-personal relations
Sense of belonging
Listen to him / her
Understanding co- actors’ strengths and weaknesses

G. Actor - Director relationship
Acting is an interpretative art
Do not copy the director but express it in your own way.

H. Art of Acting
The objective: Combination of meaningful and beautiful expression

Instructions As Regards The Workshop

  • Most of the topics could be covered through a number of games / exercises
  • Already used T-Shirts and trousers / Salwar – Kurta could be a suitable pair to be worn during the workshop.
  • It should be a mixed group (genderwise)
  • We should have an empty hall big enough to allow free movement to the participants.
  • There should not be any chairs. I prefer that the participants (along with myself) sit on the floor.
  • We may need a few sundry things such as : old news papers / tennis balls/ a nylon string /a couple of chairs etc. – we would talk
    about all such requirements later.
